GAPS Update: Feeling More Stable
I've noticed lately that I seem to be able to consume more fructose without having issues. Sometimes I do still overdo it, but it's not like it used to be. Earlier on GAPS, I had a choice: eat fewer carbs and have less energy but a more stable mood or eat more carbs and have stomach issues and more depression. So far, that doesn't seem to be the case lately. I've been eating more carbs and more fructose and overall am doing pretty well.
I have also been taking a zinc supplement for three weeks now. I haven't noticed anything huge and obvious, but overall I just feel more stable. Do I know for sure that it's the zinc? No. I know that when allergy season subsided for me, I felt better. I also was drinking a lot of nettle infusion during allergy season and maybe that helped get me to a better place. As I said earlier, I'm also consuming more carbohydrates. I'm also regularly taking my magnesium supplements and am thinking about increasing the amount of ConcenTrace soon.
I'd still like to do a hair mineral test to see what my mineral status is and to see if I really do need zinc, but for now, I am supplementing.
